Hi, my name is Jacob and I have down syndrome. I am currently attending the preschool at Fresno State and I love it! I have yet to say my first word but I can use about 40 signs in ASL. My favorite color is red and I love my family. I really enjoy listening to music and making some of my own. I love to play ball, read books, finger paint and eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
This year the Fresno area Donw Sydrome Society (FADSS) will be holding this years annual Buddy Walk on September 27 at Fresno State at O'neil park. The Buddy Walk is a fundraiser to promote awareness and inclusion of all individuals with down syndrome. They also are raising money to support local services, national research, education and advocacy efforts. I would like to ask you to join my Buddy Walk team or support us by making a donation to FADSS.
This year will be our fourth year participating in the Buddy Walk. Last year we had about 30 or so people join our team and would like to make it even bigger. This years team theme will be construction and our team name is "building awerness of trisomy 21". We have about 15 plastic construction hats and 15 inflatable hammers to share with anyone who joins our team. We would like the team members to try to look like a construction worker. I recently found some toy tools, hard hats and tool belts at Target in the dollar section. If you have any other ideas to help with our theme please let me know. Jacob and Samuel will be wearing orange T-shirts and overalls along with a constrution hat and a tool belt.
The walk will begin at 11 and lunch will be served shortly after. We ask that you get there at 10 so that we can get our team together and hand out your stuff. There will also be things starting before the walk, a bounce house, dancing, music and ceremonies begins at 10:15. You can also register that day from 815-10 AM. We cant wait to see you all there.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
