Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for Inspiration Corporation!
It is an honor and privilege to run in my very first marathon for Inspiration Corporation. In an atmosphere of dignity and respect, Inspiration Corporation helps people who are affected by homelessness and poverty to improve their lives and increase self-sufficiency through the provision of social services, employment training, and housing. Jennifer, my wife, has been working for Inspiration Corporation since August 2004 and is presently the Director of Employment Services. It is also in her honor that I am running.
As many of you know, I have been training for the marathon since June. I have been a long distance runner for several years, but I have never ran with the intensity and duration that I have this summer in preparation for the 26.2 mile haul. Thus far, my training has reaped some pretty cool results. The picture to your left is from the Windrunner 10k, an event taking place August 24 in Wheaton, IL, a run in which I placed 17th overall and 3rd for my age group (30-34). Ray, a very good friend from Chicago, is pictured with me. I also ran in the Banco Popular Chicago Half-Marathon September 14 and placed 273rd overall, out of 10000+ runners, and 49th in my age group. I still have many days of training left for the big one October 12, but my goal, as of now, is to run in under 3 hours 40 minutes.
Any donation made on my behalf to Inspiration Corporation is most appreciated, both by me and them. This is the first time I have ever done something like this on behalf of a charity and I am incredibly excited by the potential of all of you to help me earn my fundraising goal. Won't you consider a donation today? No donation is too small and every donation goes right to work on behalf of homeless men and women in the city of Chicago. THANK YOU for all you do!!!
Donating through this website is simple, fast, and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
