I will be serving on the Global Health Ministry (GHM) volunteer mission to Chulucanas, Peru in November 2009.  (Oct 30-Nov 15, 2009) The primary care trip in June has provided us with a huge number of opportunities to serve patients and provide them with much needed surgeries! 

For two weeks in November, I will be providing surgical, medical records and pharmacy supports for these patients, their families as well as the surgeons, nurse volunteers as well as the healthcare workers in Chulucanas.   GHM volunteers work side-by-side with local volunteers from Chulucanas to provide health care in remote villages and towns where the people have little or no access to medical services. 

Cerner's FirstHand foundation is sponsoring my lodging and airfare, so any money raised on this site goes directly to the work of the mission, including purchasing medications, supplies and providing health education and health educators throughout the year.  100% of these funds go directly to the mission itself to provide these life-saving surgeries.   I will match any monetary donations with an equivalent amount of medicine and supplies for the mission.   So please feel free to donate any amount from $100 to $1, any amount will make a difference twice.

10/29/09  Update:  The team is leaving tomorrow to start this 2 week adventure.  I would like to thank everyone that donated.  The offline donations reflect checks that I have sent to Global Health Ministry in order for them to buy supplies in country.  Thank you all again for supporting me in this!
