Thanks for visiting my personal fundraising page.
Ever since I began running competitively in High School it has been a dream of mine to run the Boston Marathon. Unfortunately you can't just show up on raceday in Boston and run.....you have to qualify to race in this the most prestigious race in the Milky Way Galaxy. A few years ago I just missed qualifying (by less than 6 damn minutes) while running the Houston Marathon.....so I'm going to try to post the magic time again this May in our new hometown of Green Bay. Training for and running in a marathon are painful....and I'd like you to share some pain with you,,,,, by asking you to donate money,,,and, in the process, maybe help make the world just a little better place at the same time.
The 3 charities that The Cellcom Green Bay Marathon are supporting this year are Boys & Girls Clubs, Cerebral Palsy, and the Salvation Army. I've decide to split any support I receive equally between these 3 great causes.....ie, if I collect $1.5 Million, $500k would go to each of the 3 charities.
I realize things are tough out there....so give if you can; and know that I'll understand if you can't,,,,and either way, please keep a good thought for me and my hamstrings on May 17th.
To my fellow Shopkonians: Mixing a little work with pleasure(?)....so that we can use the blurb "Marathon Tested" in our marketing and on our on-garment hang tags, I will be sporting Energy Zone performance apparel during the run. The black "smart layer" tee shirt that I'll be wearing is on a manequin in my office.....feel free to stop by, grab the fabric pen & sign your name to it.....or you could even add an inspirational message,,,but please skip the phrase "break a leg."
Thanks, Jeff
