Our personal message:

Fortunately, this year I will be running for Team Sherpa Ultra-Running, and have been given the opportunity to help raise funds for a charity of my choice. With that said, I have chosen the American Cancer Society.

Team Sherpa Ultra-Running is headed by Sherpa John Lacroix, a young 26 year old ultrarunner who I met this past fall at the Vermont 50 Miler, and we have been running buddies ever since. Also, in the group are about eight other members from all parts of the US! Our teams mission is: "No fees, No budget, No free bib numbers. Friends running with friends while supporting good will in everyday life."

For the past two years I have been dependent on the running community for things such as race directors, volunteers, other runners, etc. and now it is my time to give back to the running community that has been so wonderful to me. Now my time, effort, and focus will be honed in on reaching my $1500 fundraising goal for the American Cancer Society!!

Every dollar we raise makes a difference!! 100% of these donations are given straight to the American Cancer Society where they are used for further research in finding a cure for this terrible disease. Millions of lives have been saved as a result, and now it is our goal to find a cure to save everyone. For those people and countless others, the research the Society has funded is resulting in better ways to prevent, detect, and treat cancer.

Now, being a part of an ultrarunning team would not be complete unless I checked the grand daddy of all goals off the list. That is the 100 Miler. So, I will be running the 2008 Vermont 100 Mile Endurance Run. It is my goal to run all 100 miles in under 24 Hours. At 21 years old, I will probably be the youngest entrant in a field whose average age is 35-45 years old, but setting my sights high have brought me to where I am today. It is my dream that you will join me on this awesome journey in supporting the American Cancer Society to help find a cure!

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

I understand donating online is not comfortable for everyone, so please make your check payable to: American Cancer Society, New England Division, Inc. and mail it to the following address.

I will collect all of these 'offline' donations, and send the checks to the ACS. Also, you can see your offline donations contribute to the total dollar goal because I will be updating the total regularly.

I cannot express my appreciation enough! Please, feel free to email me at jwaldron@assumption.edu if you have any comments or questions. Also, you can follow Team Sherpa Ultra-Running at www.teamsherpa.blogspot.com

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate!!
