The problems of domestic violence and sexual assault bring devastation and suffering not just to the victims, but their children, their families and the entire community. Victims need a place where they can get support and safety. Mutual Ground, located in Aurora Illinois, is a safety net for these victims while on their journey to becoming survivors.

This fundraiser is really important. With all of the government funding cuts, this year we need to raise as much money as possible so that we can keep providing the same level of services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

I am participating in Walk for Hope to benefit Mutual Ground and help victims of domestic violence and sexual assault regain control of their lives. For $13, a baby will be fed for three days.

For $19, a child who is a witness to domestic violence will have art supplies.

For $54, a victim of domestic violence will have two counseling sessions.

For $97, a victim and her family will have a night of shelter.

For $162, a victim of sexual assault will have two sessions of therapy.
