Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page. This year's race is especially personal to me and my family. We have been supporters of The Bell Center since our sons, John and Will, were diagnosed as hearing-impaired and attended in 2004. This year, John is in Lisa Mooresmith's first grade class, and I am honored to work with her hearing-impaired daughter, Lilly, on Thursdays at The Bell Center.
After Lilly was born weighing just 4 lbs. 15 oz., doctors found abnormal mitochondria during a muscle biopsy. They suspect a mitochondrial disease, but Lilly has to have many more tests in order to confirm this. She wears cochlear implants, and splints on her feet due to gross motor delays. She also has oral motor delays. Lilly has been at the Bell Center since she was 2 months old; she receives speech, physical therapy, occupational therapy and general special education services.
Lilly loves books, Mickey Mouse and the Auburn Tigers. She loves Circle Time at the Bell Center, and knows all of the hand movements to "Polly Pointer" and "I'm Bringing Home My Baby Bumblebee". She kisses and pats all of her classmates, and works hard during Chair Time and Explore Time.
Thank you again for your support of Lilly and The Bell Center. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
