As many of you know Dexter and I have been volunteering at the Ellis Memorial Adult Day Health program for a few years now where Dexter is the resident therapy dog.  The program is designed to keep elders and disabled adults living independently in the community and to prevent or delay institutionalization. This program seeks to maintain optimal levels of functioning by increasing clients’ socialization and activity levels.  I can personally attest to the fact that this program improves the lives of its clients.  However, like many programs across Massachusetts and the country its funding has been cut.   

I have decided to run a 1/2 Marathon in the end of May and wanted to raise money for a cause that is near and dear to my heart.  It will be amazing to see how the funds raised will directly affect the clients at the program.  I hope you will consider making a small donation (large donations are welcome as well) to my cause.
