Well, I've gone and done it! I've decided to go and kill my knees and run a full marathon. I figured since it's the inaugural marathon in San Antonio, it would be a great inaugural marathon for me too. AND while I was at it, I might as well run for a cause to motivate me even more.
While looking at non-profit charities, I couldn't decide WHICH cause to run for, so I decided on two: The Louisiana SPCA and The American Heart Association. This page is for the American Heart Association, or the HEARTS part of Hearts and Barks.
Coronary heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States for both men and women. Having family members affected by heart problems it is an issue that is near and dear to my...ehhm..well, heart! I'm running and raising funds not only for my family members but for my own heart health as well. Together we can help put an end to heart disease once and for all!
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. Just click on the "Sponsor Me Now" button up top and follow the instructions from there. Your funds go directly to the American Heart Association. There is no gift too small to help out. Whether it's $5, $10 or $100 your sponsorship is greatly appreciated!
I am chronicling my marathon training journey at http://jenag96.blogspot.com/ if you want to share in my trials and tribulations.
