The V Foundation proudly supports a variety of fundraising events to raise money for cancer research.

"Show Your Spirit!" is the official corporate grassroots fundraising program for The V Foundation for Cancer Research. The 2009 campaign will culminate with Show Your Spirit Day (March 19 or 20) during the first round of the collegiate basketball playoffs.  Individuals, companies and schools are invited to set up a fundraising page to collect online donations.  Join the team that will cut down the nets in the fight against cancer!

Game officials at all levels of all sports are invited to "Blow the Whistle on Cancer!" by donating all or a portion of their game check from one sporting event to help fight cancer.  Individuals game officials and/or associations can set up a personal fundraising page to collect donations online.   In its eighth season, Blow the Whistle on Cancer! raises funding nationwide for cancer research and has welcomed participation from the NFL, NBA, WNBA, National College Football Day, collegiate, high school, intramural and officials from every level of competition in all sports.  The V Foundation proudly partners annually with the National Association of Sports Officials to Blow the Whistle on Cancer!

The V Foundation for Cancer Research was founded in 1993 by ESPN and the late Jim Valvano, legendary North Carolina State basketball coach and ESPN commentator. Since 1993, The Foundation has raised more than $80 million to fund cancer research grants nationwide. The V Foundation awards 100 percent of all new direct cash donations and net proceeds of events directly to cancer research and related programs. The foundation, which has received six consecutive 4-star ratings from Charity Navigator, awards grants through a competitive awards process strictly supervised by a Scientific Advisory Board.
