Hi, Everyone,
I am so excited about my new involvement with this great cause – I have wanted to be a part of their work for years and am taking the leap with the upcoming Habitat for Humanity East Bay’s 2008 Earth Day Build-A-Thon. This event takes place April 19th through 22nd. Together with hundreds of other community volunteers, I will be framing six new GREEN homes in four days, helping six families achieve the dream of homeownership. Instead of making homes pretty through home staging, I will actually be swinging a hammer to frame brand new homes – fun and, frankly, a bit intimidating!
I am asking for your help by making a tax deductible donation, whatever you can spare. I have committed to raise a minimum of $1000 in pledges to help fund building materials for the homes. We hope our efforts will raise $100,000 in donations to support the building program. The Earth Day Build-A-Thon celebrates Habitat for Humanity East Bay's commitment to building in a sustainable way, using methods and materials that are good for the environment. Habitat East Bay builds green to take better care of the partner families, the volunteers, and the community. There are several reasons I’ve chosen to be part of Habitat. There is the obvious connection of homes – helping people to get the most equity from their homes is what I do in my career, this will allow me to help people who otherwise would never have had that opportunity. It also follows the Pay It Forward philosophy I try to follow in my life - doing for others with the hope and expectation that they will pay it forward to someone else in need.
Kindly support this great cause by making a tax deductible donation. Thank you so much! Joanne O’Donnell Chic Home Interiors joanne@chichomeinteriors.com
