My Uncle Bill was told in June 2008 that he had non small cell lung cancer (adenocarcinoma) that had metastasized to his lower back, upper spine and pelvic bone. The cancer was in both lungs.

 Uncle Bill passed away on Tuesday, September 9th, 2008; he was only 54 at the time of his death.

His family is having a walk in his memory on October 11, 2009 in Lowell, MA (this would have been his 56th Birthday). The money raised will benefit The Jimmy Fund and Dana Farber Cancer Institute for Children's cancer research. For those of you who knew my Uncle, he loved kids and would be so happy we are doing this in his memory.
