This is our son Jonathan. Jonathan was diagnosed with autism just as he turned 2 years old. Jonathan is our baby and always will be, functioning at the 2 to 3 year-old level. Jonathan has a large arsenal of behaviors that keeps us very busy and is non-verbal. Despite his many challenges Jon is very loving and enjoys such activities as swimming, jumping on his trampoline, taking walks, using his treadmill, watching his favorite movies, going to the beach and riding on rides. It is a marvel to live with someone who can do so little but at the same time have so many things he can do and loves.
I have worked for the Autism Society of Delaware for 10 years now, and I have seen some incredible things happen. We provide a huge schedule of social activities for our kids so parents can go and feel comfortable and not worry about the stares or rude comments. ASD schedules train rides, beach picnic parties, skating parties, bowling nights, teen and tween game nights and so much more. We have also started our own Adult Service Provider called POW&R so that our adults have a bright future despite their abilities. All of this is possible because of the generosity of people like you. Please consider making a donation to this very worthy cause. No donation is to small or to BIG!
Thank you,Mark, Cher and of course Jonathan
