Help Bryan Jones raise $$ for Project ECHO.
I have been involved with an incredible organization over the past 3 years called Project ECHO. While in business school, I mentored high school students through Project Echo. I taught them business skills that they could apply to on-campus businesses. The picture above is Team Seflora and me at the Business Plan Competition at UCLA Anderson where the girls won 1st place!
I recently joined the board of directors and made a commitment to raise $5,000 for the organization. Please help in any way you can by donating through this page or mailing a check to made out to Project Echo and mailed to: Bryan Jones, 3161 S. Sepulveda Blvd. #302, Los Angeles, CA 90034
WHO WE ARE: Project ECHO is a Los Angeles based non-profit community of entrepreneurs, teachers, MBA students and supporters that provide hands-on entrepreneurial experiences to high school students in Greater Los Angeles. Students are empowered with the resources and support to help them develop new student run ventures and grow existing on-campus businesses. We address the growing need for alternative learning environments by offering unique entrepreneurial programming for high school students who struggle in a conventional classroom setting and help these students discover their entrepreneurial instincts to create their own future.
High School student teams are paired with UCLA Anderson MBA mentors for an intensive 12 week curriculum where students obtain deeper exposure to the elements of business practices and gain confidence in their written and verbal presentation skills. Teams receive direct feedback from an expert panel of business leaders, Anderson community members and local entrepreneurs. Students will experience UCLA campus life for the day and are encouraged to build their own network of entrepreneurial high school colleagues throughout the day. In a 2007 post-competition survey, teachers appreciated that Project ECHO provides a more “real world” experience for their students compared to other youth entrepreneurship programs and offers the program at no cost.
