So, if you have made it this far, there is a good chance you recieved an email from me or someone close to me, and I appreciate you taking the time to visit my page and would even more appreciate it if you would take the time to donate to the cause.
So, heres the deal: One of the better people you will ever meet in this world, Catherine Blackwood, has been dealing with carcinoid for some time now. She, her husband Rob, and their 10 children decided that they were going to be proactive about raising awareness and money for the cause by exercising... a lot. They decided to do a sprint triathlon and caught a bunch of friends and family in the wake of their good nature, myself included. So, now I ask you for your help in following their lead. Anything you can donate would be appreciated (note, obviously these funds go to the caring for carcinoid foundation, and not me, sadly. If you dont know what carcinoid is, the caring for carcinoid website is very informative about this type of cancer, and I'd hope you might take a second to read about and familiarize yourself with it).
As I have never done any triathlons, i thought I'd lay down some goals for this one:
1) not drowning
2) raising enough money so as to not be ashamed of myself... but hoping to make enough for the blackwoods to be proud of me.
3) not losing to every singe one of the blackwoods (likely the hardest of the feats, but if I dont manage to pull #1 off, chances are slim that I will accomplish #3... so make sure you help me with #2. cool?)
for more info, the blackwoods actually have their own site about carcinoid, Catherine, and the rest of the family (thats their pic to the left, which I conveniently stole from their homepage):
www.blackwoodcaring.com
Thanks again for visiting the site, and have a lovely one.
