I have been an elementary school teacher for 31 years and have worked with children that have this puzzling condition, especially those with Asbergers Syndrome.  These kids are usually brilliant, can communicate, make high grades, but cannot tolerate over-stimulation such as sudden loud noises (fire drill), crowded, noisy environments ( school cafeteria), or changes in routine.  They are often misunderstood and treated as "behavior problems" by adults who do not understand their special needs.

All I need to raise is $500 to run the Marine Corp Marathon for Autism!!  I'd really like to exceed this goal and give hope to those children who suffer from this syndrome and all other forms of autism.
