History of the River Music Experience: Since first opening its doors in June of 2004, the RME has become an exciting destination that explores the contributions of the people, communities, and traditions that have given vitality and life to our society through music. Through diverse live music performances and unique educational programs, music lesson studios, and our affiliation with the national Rock Camp USA program (since 2006), RME has evolved into a showcase for the creation and performance of American music.

The Mission of the River Music Experience: The River Music Experience (RME) exists to give our region's residents and our visitors opportunities to experience America's music, and most especially the music of the Mississippi River, through live musical performances, and programs which nurture, educate and inspire musicians and music appreciators.
