Our personal message:

Welcome to our wedding fundraising page.

On this occasion when we have so much to celebrate, we would like to share our celebration with a worthy cause.

Instead of flower arrangements at our wedding, we will be making a donation to charity, in honour of Katie's friend Deb, who died in April 2003, after a brave fight with leukaemia.

In memory of Deb, or "Bueno" as some of her friends knew her, we invite you to join us in making a donation to the Deborah Bartfeld Center at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

We will celebrate our wedding at the time of the joyous Jewish festival of Purim. On Purim we read from the book of Esther "Layehudim hayta orah vesimcha vesasson veyakar / And the Jewish people had light and happiness and joy and gladness." Deb's Hebrew name was "Orah", meaning "light", and that light continues to shine brightly.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. Please note that the amount you enter is the amount drawn in US dollars, so if you wanted to give £100 you would enter 190 (approx). If you prefer, you could send a UK cheque made out to Katie Schenk and I will convert it into US dollars for you. (Post to 2122 Mass. Ave NW, #624, Washington DC 20008 USA)
