Thank you for coming to my website. World Vision and their cause is something extremely important to me. Let me explain to you why.
I have been a member of the U.S. Alpine Ski Team for eight years. I train and compete at an international level and have had enough success to have the honor of representing my country in the 2006 Olympics. I have been referred to as an Olympian, a ski racer, an athlete, and many other titles throughout my life.
Before I had any of these titles I was a Christian. I have been incredibly blessed in my life. Many times I have struggled to understand why I have so much and others so little. There is no easy answer to that, and I am not made to comprehend the vastness of God's plan, but I do know that I am grateful and need to share God's love. I feel called to help and I am calling out to you for your help.
World Vision is an organization that I believe in because they serve all people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender. They work alongside the poor and oppressed as a demonstration of God's unconditional love, just as I believe Jesus would today if he were present.
My family has decided that we want to help World Vision with a need in Zambia. We have each sponsored a child from Zambia, but I know there is even more that we can do.
This is the reason for the website. I would like to build a school in the southern province of Zambia. The school will be constructed in the community of Twachiyanda which is is about 260 miles south of Lusaka, the capital of Zambia. The school will have three classrooms that can each accommodate 45-60 school children. In addition there will also be two teacher's offices and a room for keeping sensitive materials
Our school will cost $54,000. This school will provide an education for hundreds of children for many years to come. When you consider how many lives and potential generations one school can effect it doesn't seem such an outrageous sum. Through the money that is raised we are giving children in Zambia new opportunities and hope for a better life.
Please give generously. We are all so blessed. Let's spread our blessings through love. Above all, let us also pray for the children of Zambia.
Thank you so much!
God bless,
Kaylin
