Kelley here, thanking you for even considering sponsoring my efforts to write my first novel - and in only a month!!!  A couple of reasons why I am doing this:

1. National Novel Writing Month, sponsored by the Office of Letters and Light, is a really cool organization that gets kids and adults all over the country excited about CREATING something.  And then it gives them back-up and support.  And a dash of competition to salt the pot.

2. I need to set a big creative goal for myself AND have some accountability built in.   If I don't finish this, I will be too ashamed to show my head for awhile, and we don't want that, now, do we??

3. I have chosen $250 as my donation goal because it's a big enough number that I will be impressed and gratified - and most importantly, compelled to finish the novel - when my friends and family (YOU!) donate that much, and a small enough number that I won't feel guilty about how much I'm asking from you.

Hi there! Thanks for coming to my fundraising page for National Novel Writing Month. This fall, I'll be joining 100,000 authors in the challenge of writing a book, from scratch, in November.

It's going to be a busy month! As I write my novel, I'll be raising money for the nonprofit Office of Letters and Light, whose free programs such as National Novel Writing Month have helped spark a lifelong love of writing in kids, teens, and adults around the world.
