Dear Friends and Family,
As many of you know, Deena and I have been selected to participate in a mission trip to the Turkana village of Lodwar, Kenya July 3- 17th through the Orthodox Christian Mission Center. We are very excited about this opportunity and are looking forward to putting our faith to work. We will be travelling to Kenya with other American Orthodox Christians to this remote Northeast region to build a church for over 150 newly converted Christians and to provide aid to those in need.
While this trip requires a lot of hard work, dedication and time off from work it also requires that we raise over $3900 each--a total of roughly $8000. We have faith that through God's good grace and with the support of all of our friends and family that this goal will be met. We have created this website to keep you up to date on our fundraising efforts and to make it easier for you to donate through this site. You can make a donation to support our mission trip to Kenya by clicking on "Give Now". Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts.
If you prefer to send a check, please make checks payable to OCMC and mail to: 1725 Ascot Way, Unit A Reston, VA 20190.
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page! Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!

The first OCMC Orthodox Mission Team began its efforts in the summer of 1987 with the first project being the construction of an Orthodox Church. A stone church, the Nativity of our Lord, was built in a remote village of Loberi where there are fifteen communities of Orthodox faithful. It was the first church building in the area. Since the time of that mission, numerous teams have been sent to build churches, schools, and a medical clinic, as well as provide catechism, health care services, and encouragement in several communities throughout this growing metropolitanate.
The 2007 OCMC Kenya Orthodox Mission Team has been invited by Archbishop Makarios of to help continue building churches and bonds between Orthodox communities in Africa and North America . Team members will travel to Nairobi and visit the Makarios III Seminary before departing for northern . 150 individuals were recently catechized and baptized and are now worshipping without a permanent church in Northern Kenya . In Lodwar, the Team will assist with the construction of an Orthodox Church. This is a community that is already in existence, but does not have a building in which to worship. Work alongside Kenyans of Lodwar to build a Church in a remote region where people from the Turkana tribe live. Evening catechism will also be a part of this Team’s goal. An option to serve for two weeks will be provided. Team members should be in good physical shape and able to perform manual labor. Construction experience is welcomed, but not necessary.
