My personal message:

Welcome to my Partners In Training home page!

I am currently training to run the Mercedes Marathon in February. Yes, the full marathon this year, equaling 26.2 miles! In case you don't know I ran the Half Marathon last year. So, since I am kicking it up a notch to the full marathon, I am asking everyone else to kick it up a notch also.

I am raising funds for "The Bell Center for Early Intervention" while I train. It just so happens that Luke Borkent attends The Bell Center. I am raising these funds in Luke's honor and I will run this race in his honor as well.

Now this is something you need to know. Luke was born with CHARGE syndrome. He has overcome so many hurdles and went through so many surgeries but he still has his daily struggles. I have included a link below to read more about CHARGE. Please take a moment and read about some of the things that Luke and his family have been through in the last year and a half. I work with Luke's daddy Rob. Luke's mommy's name is Candi and he also has 2 big brothers that are twins (Sam & Gus). They are a wonderful family so we want to really blow this thing wide open to make them really proud!

Last year we raised over $7100.00 (awesome) for The Bell Center in Luke's honor and I cannot thank everyone that donated enough. But we must do more for these guys this year. The Bell Center depends heavily on this event each year and of course we want to really make a splash for the Borkent family.

Give what you can even if it is only $5.00. You can be assured that it is going to an awesome organization that helps these children and their families immensely. I can't do it without YOU.

Thank you for visiting my page. If you will, please donate through this site. It is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!

Feel free to send me a check also; make your check payable to "The Bell Center for Early Intervention". You can mail this to me at the following address.

As of July 2008 I am training and I will peak out around 41 miles per week. This means 5 days a week through heat, rain, sleet, snow & holidays I will be running the roads. Pray for me that my mind and body do not fail us!

1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us         Hebrews 12:1
