I am running the Boston Marathon in April with a team of 10 runners to help support the Hoyt Foundation (see info to left). It will be the 112th Boston Marathon on April 21, 2008. My charity team will be running as part of Team Hoyt, Dick and Rick Hoyt. Together, we are running to raise money and awareness of the challenges faced by the handicapped. The Hoyts are a fantastic father and son team that inspire the disabled and able-bodied alike. Being a part of the Team Hoyt mission has been truly remarkable for me and I'm looking forward to spreading their message and inspiration to others through this race.
Please take the time to learn more about the Hoyts and all of their challenges and triumphs. I have included a few short video clips below to give you a glimpse of the Hoyts' story. The first one is of the Hoyts on the Today Show with Natalie Morales last month. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPSUrR3ipQc This second clip is of the Hoyts finishing their 25th Boston Marathon in 2006 Please bear with the 15 second commercial at the beginning. http://cbs4boston.com/bostonmarathon/local_story_107154442.html And finally, we don't know who put this one together, but it appeared on YouTube in 2006 and was one of the most shared for the year. http://www.teamhoyt.zrainmedia.com/videos/can1.htm
