Greetings friends and family!
As many of you know, I have a history of running around public places mostly naked, often with guys named Joe (see the infamous Canada fundraiser with Gullo in '04, or the HA wake-up call with Hicken in '05). This year, fellow sociologists Johan Hong, Kim Pernell, Vaughn Tan and I ("Team Weber") thought we'd change things up a bit:
1) Instead of anything remotely approximating appropriate running gear, the entirety of the clothes I'll be wearing that day are pictured at left.
2) Instead of sunny La Jolla, we'll be running 1.25 miles in downtown Boston... in the middle of December. (For those who are unclear on the precise meaning of this, you might consult weather.com and compare the historical average temperature in December between the two.)
3) Instead of running solo, we'll be joined by 496 strangers (also wearing speedos and santa hats).
4) Instead of doing this for the SOLE purpose of public spectacle, we'll be raising money for local charities (Bottom Line, in my case- see details at left).
In other words, the four of us will be running in this year's SANTA SPEEDO RUN (www.santaspeedorun.com), for which all runners are required to raise at least $250 to participate. I would be grateful for any contribution that you could make, no matter how small! and regardless, thanks for taking the time to visit my site, and I hope that any of you in the Boston area on December 12th will come down to watch me make a fool of myself (yet again). Best wishes and happy holidays,
- Kevin
P.S. Depending on the temperature/how the blisters on my feet are doing- and as if the speedo thing wasn't enough- I will hopefully be running barefoot as well :).
