Together with friends, family and co-workers we have formed our walk group "Team Lance" not only to honor my son, Lance, who has PDD-NOS (aka atypical autism) but to show our support for all the children within our community diagnosed on the autism spectrum. By participating in the 2009 Walk for Autism in Fort Payne, we hope to bring awareness, support, and understanding to the children and their families who deal with ASD each day. Please join us in exceeding our fundraising target and show these children and their families they are not alone in their daily struggles. As we know autism not only touches the children but it affects our families, schools and communities. Join us in showing Lance and other children how special they are and how we are dedicated to making our schools and communities a better place for them to grow and prosper. Remember every 20 minutes a child is diagnosed with a form of ASD!
We wish to give a special thanks to Northside Medical-Dr. Theakston, Memory Makers photography, Dekalb Cardiology, and Dekalb Anesthesia Associates, Arctic Snow-Leesburg Jeff's Auto Sales - for donation of our Team Lance t-shirts
