Every year law enforcement officers throughout the country are killed in the line of duty. These fallen hero's leave behind husbands, wives, children, family and friends. They have paid the ultimate sacrific while protecting and serving the citizens of this great country.

During National Law Enforcement Officers Week in May of each year, over one thousand law enforcement officers ride their bicycles from North Hanover, NJ to the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington DC. This bicycle ride is to raise awareness of officers who have died in the line of duty. The secondary purpose is to raise funds for the National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial and Museum in Washington DC.

The Lawrence Township Police Unity Tour Team will have the honor of riding for a second year for this great cause. The Tour leaves New Jersey on May 9, 2010 and arrives in Washington DC on May 12, 2010.

Please help support the members of our team, the families of the fallen officers, the National Law Enforcement Memorial and Museum. This page makes donating easy and provides proof of your donation for tax purposes. Any donation is very much appreciated by the team members.

Also, keep in mind that on May 10, 2010 the Police Unity Tour will ride through Mercer County along Route 130. Come out and support us as hundreds of officers ride in memory and honor of those officers killed in the line of duty.

On a personal note, our team agreed individually that last year's ride was one of the more emotional and meaningful events that we all have experienced. The appreciation shown for the riders by the  fallen officers family members is beyond comprehension. Seeing the genuine appreciation, caring, comfort and pain that the fallen officers families and friends show  is more then enough motivation to ride a bicycle any distance. Please consider donating any amount to support our team riders. Each rider is required to raise a minimum of $1,700 to participate in the ride, this brings our team requirement to $ 6,800.
