As the organizers of the only cycling event to directly benefit those living with HIV and AIDS in the inland northern California region, we make these promises:
For those affected or infected, to stand by their side in the fight against HIV and AIDS.
For our Beneficiaries, to return the maximum amount of revenue and to promote their programs of social services, medical care, and education.
For the Donors, to provide impeccable practices in fundraising and forthright reporting of results.
For our Sponsors, to provide visibility for them and appreciation for their generosity.
For the Communities along the route, to engage them in the event and provide visibility for the cause.
For the Cyclists and Crew, to create a safe, memorable, and inspiring experience, and a way for them to act on their compassion
For those not yet involved in the fight against HIV and AIDS, to provide inspiration for their future action.
Accepting the CHALLENGE is our way to confront AIDS, remember our loved ones, and celebrate the courage of those living with HIV and AIDS among us.

Our personal message:
Hi Everyone,
I'm riding my bike to help raise donations to support Sacramento area agencies that help those living with HIV and AIDS and educate our community on HIV prevention. It's a great cause, it's ongoing and one I've always supported.
From 1999-2001 with your support I've pedaled my way through three AIDS Rides. Looking back we've raised $19,745 that has helped in the fight against HIV and those affected. We've helped with the effort in SF, LA, Chicago, Minneapolis/St. Paul and Wisconsin. Let's not forget that about 25% of our contribution supported AIDS vaccine research at NYU and The Salk Vaccine Institute. This was our part to help spare future generations. Thank You!
This ride is special for me because it supports Sacramento and Northern California, my home town for the past 20 years this September. HIV barely had a name in 1985 and nearly all of my experiences with this disease have occurred while living in Sacramento. This year I am especially proud to ride my bike and again ask for your support in the very first NorCal AIDS Challenge. We are raising money for the Capitol City AIDS Fund benefiting CARES, Breaking Barriers and the AIDS Housing Alliance/Open Arms Project. I know each of these organizations and the benefits their services bring to the community. I personally support each of them and I'm willing to pedal 360 miles in four days to further assist them. Ok...are you ready for your part? I need to raise a minimum of $1,800. Ok...are you ready for this...by...May 18, 2005. This will be my share and along with about 25 other riders we hope to blaze a trail on this first ride to safely arrive back in Sacramento having raised a sizable donation to support AIDS agencies in our back yard. This ride is already a success and upon completion we all will have helped develop a road map for the NorCal AIDS Challenges to follow. We can all be proud of that. You're asking yourself, 10 days; yes we leave on May 18th. Rest assured I can do my part. I have been training and I'm feeling strong with a stronger commitment. I apologize for the short notice. I knew that once I started fund raising there would be no looking back and due to a very busy schedule there has been some looking back. So there is no looking back now, and no doubt, that you supporting me will make this easier and more rewarding. It always has! Sincere thanks for your considerations. I'll let you know how much fun I had. You're the best! Mark
