Learning to cope with and manage the physical difficulties associated with scleroderma has been one of the biggest challenges of my life. I have resolved to conquer scleroderma and live a long, healthy life. This disease has already taken its toll on my hands and digestive system, but I am determined to prevent or delay lung fibrosis and/or pulmonary hypertension (which is the number one cause of death from my form of scleroderma). Fortunately for me, my insatiable running habit not only helps me cope with the stress of this unpredictable disease, but may also help me maintain lung function. I am hoping that my perpetual training to run races will save, or at least extend, my life. I am grateful that my body is still well enough to endure the rigors of running.
Thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page. Donating through this site is simple, fast, and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts. You may also mail a check to me (made out to the Scleroderma Foundation) if you feel uncomfortable contributing over the internet. I will forward it on to the Scleroderma Foundation Michigan Chapter. Many, many thanks for your support -- and feel free to forward this to anyone who you think might want to help my cause by donating too! I need all the support I can get to fight this incurable disease.
