Friends & Family:
4th Annual "Walk for HOPE worldwide” Walkathon
On Saturday, 26 September, I will be participating in a walkathon event at Luther Burbank Park to raise funds and awareness for HOPE worldwide, LTD.
HOPE worldwide is dedicated to serving the poor and needy, locally and abroad. Our global community of employees, trained volunteers and partner organizations brings hope and changes lives by providing humanitarian aid on all six occupied continents. We educate, train and serve through disease control, medical training and care, community outreach, adoption and orphanage assistance, development assistance and disaster relief. Washington programs focus on Native American youth and families and other at-risk in the Puget Sound region.
The TEAM-WORKS Academy is a tutoring and mentoring program created to strengthen Native American and at-risk youth in grades 3 – 8, and is focused on building Strong Minds, Strong Bodies and Strong Character in underserved youth. Currently, the program is based in three American Indian and Alaskan Native communities (Tulalip, Muckleshoot and Anchorage) and offers After-school and Saturday Academy during the school year as well as a Summer Academy and Sports & Leadership camp free-of-charge. Through team-work we empower our students to make healthy choices in every area of their life (www.teamworksacademy.org).
HOPE worldwide is considered a "High Value Charity", as 91% of all expenditures go directly to program costs (3 year average). The funds you donate in support of this event will be used to support the local TEAM-WORKS Academy program as well as established HOPE worldwide programs around the globe.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
