Lupus patients look like anyone else on the outside - healthy, vibrant human beings. Inside however there is a battle being waged with their immune system. Healthy tissue is attacked, organs are damaged, inflammation and pain spread. Symptoms are felt that are not readily visible to others making Lupus difficult to diagnose. Patients struggle to express their feelings and problems to physicians and their family, friends and employers causing frustration and despair. Lupus is real.
My family and myself know personally how devastating this disease can be. I lost my sister Lisa in March of 1992 to Lupus. It was the hardest time for my family. Lupus was not well known and it was to late in the end for any treatment. After my sisters death, my family was determined to help in any way so that other families would not have to suffer as we did. And ever year we have attended the walks and raised money to help raise awareness in efforts to find a cure. Anyone can help, and there are many ways.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
