Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

On June 2nd , I am traveling to Namibia to work as a volunteer teacher through a program called WorldTeach. My goal is to raise at least $5000 that will support me and other volunteers on our journey in Namibia.

On a continent struggling with violence and war, Namibia's peaceful and stable environment has allowed the country to concentrate its resources on basic needs and educational reform is a top priority. The WorldTeach Namibia program is run in close coordination with the Ministry of Education and is focused on leading computer literacy training for teachers at primary and secondary schools. I may also have the opportunity to teach core subjects to students and work with the community in other capacities.

Although I am still awaiting information on my exact placement, I know that this will be a life changing experience. I am looking forward to the opportunity to make an impact in a country that is working to overcome the impact of the apartheid system while addressing the challenge of significant HIV and AIDS infection rates.
