Dear Friend,

On February 28, I will be participating in Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build Work Day program. Along with my dear friend and college roommate, Leslie, and other Habitat volunteers, I will be helping to build a modest home for a hard-working, low-income family in New Jersey, where Leslie lives.

Decent, affordable housing is scarce in Somerset and Hunterdon counties, forcing many low-income families to live in overcrowded, unsafe conditions. The Women Build program challenges women to build a better future for the children of central New Jersey by addressing the problem of substandard housing. By participating in Women Build, I will be giving other women and their families a “hand up” by helping them to build a home of their own.

With your help, I hope to make a real difference in the lives of a local family. My personal goal is $1,000.00. The Women Build Team’s goal is $100,000. My hope is that I can get $10 donations, but any pledge amount you can offer will be greatly appreciated!
