This will be my VERY FIRST race and I am very excited. This is also a chance for me to help raise some money for a cause that is near and dear to me -- homeless pets. Your donations can help save lives and bring awareness to overpopulation.

Almost 1400 pets AN HOUR are put to their premature death due to negligence by normal Americans . . . your neighbors, your coworkers, maybe even you. In this economy, even more animals run the risk because people can't afford to take of them any longer. Or worse yet, many people out there believe it hurts an animal's "pride" if you fix them; when all that does is end up in countless litters that roam the streets or end up in already-overflowing shelters.
 
Think about your pet for a moment . . . what if you could no longer care for them and had to surrender them to a shelter? Chances are, they will never be adopted because they are no longer a very desirable puppy or kitten. After a while, they will be euthanized. How many pets that once had the love and care of a human have faced this?
 
I am trying to reach $500 and I am almost there, but I need your help. Any amount will work . . . $5 . . . $10 . . . anything helps. If you have already donated, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
