Dear family and friends, As many of you know I have worked as a pediatric nurse at Children's Hospital Boston for the past 3 years. I have been lucky enough to work with the neurology population which includes children with epilepsy, strokes, and brain and spinal tumors. Many of my patients have touched my heart but none more thus far as "my Robert". Robert suffered from a brain tumor known as Primitive Neuroectodermal Tumor (PNET) and unfortunately lost his battle at the beginning of this October. Robert loved Wild Willy's hamburgers, the Red Sox and all sports. I was blessed enough to take care of Robert during his 2 year treatment program and be apart of his and his family's life. Robert continuously made me laugh and cry throughout those 2 years and am honored to have been apart of his life. To honor Robert and his amazing fight I along with my sister will be running the Disneyworld Marathon January 10, 2010 in Orlando Florida. My mantra for this race has become "Running for Robert". I will be donating all my fundraising proceeds to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute where all the patients I care for who are forced to deal with brain tumors and other kinds of cancers are treated. Thank you for visiting my fundraising page, and please consider donating. No donation is too small and every penny will go to treatment and research so that no family or child will suffer a loss due to cancer. Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Thank you so much!!! Love, Liz(Spud) Kidde
