Founded in 1983 and incorporated in 1993, The LOFT seeks to provide a safe gathering place for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and supportive community of New York's lower Hudson Valley. The LOFT facilitates a wide range of educational, health, social service and recreational programs, and advocates for improved services for our community. We provide a home for the birth, nurture and celebration of our organizations and culture; care for members of the community; educate the public and our community; and empower members of the community to achieve their potential.
The LOFT is the only community center serving lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in the lower Hudson Valley of New York. Each month, we serve almost 4,000 people who receive our newsletter, come to The LOFT for support groups, call our Help Line, access our web site, participate in social activities, and attend educational and recreational programs. Because many LGBT people feel isolated in their suburban and rural towns, The LOFT provides a sense of community and connection in this area. In addition, we advocate for systemic changes to ensure that LGBT people have access to services and legal protections they need.

Celebrating 25 Years of Service to the LGBT Community
As The LOFT Celebrates its 25th Anniversary, we reflect on how much progress our community has made in winning the respect and rights we so deserve. However, there is so much more to do, and The LOFT is working to get it done.
25K/25Y Goal
As we celebrate this special time, we hope you can join us at the many LOFT 25 events that are planned for the remainder of our silver year of service including our Anniversary Gala in the Fall. And it is also at this time that we ask you for your support as we kickoff our LOFT 25Y/25K Fundraising Program. Our goal is to raise $25,000 during our 25th Anniversary Year through this appeal and LOFT 25 events. Since the start of 2008 we've already raised $6,200 towards our goal!
