My personal message:

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!

Luke the old Shepherd mix was the poster boy for Dogs Deserve Better Dayton Ohio while I was a Volunteer Representative of DDB in this area which was from approximately 2003 till early 2008.  I am still involved as a volunteer for this organization that I love and believe in because the mission makes such a difference in dogs lives, sometimes the difference between life and death.

Luke had been chained his whole life in a rural area near Athens Ohio and a young student saw him  and she and her aunt were his guardian angels, watching over him, getting him a blue ball toy, a doghouse that fit him, and then contacting me as the Ohio Rep closest to them.  They brought him to our home in Springboro and the purpose was of course to rehab and then adopt him, but he had issues at times and he ended up staying with us, traveling to Arizona for the winter  with us (his first road trip to Arizona) and then finally after a good 4 years, he passed on last Labor Day 2008 of old age, probably 18 years old.

This is just one story, it happens regularly at Dogs Deserve Better and I am not ashamed to ask for monetary support for a non profit group with such a fantastic mission-to educate the public, help to change laws regarding chained dogs, rescue, rehab, adopt.  We individually also are part of the big humane picture against puppy mills and dog auctions, and other forms of animal cruelty.

On June 27 i am participating in Chain Off in Covington Kentucky (my home state is after all Kentucky!) at Pioneer Park from 8 am till 6pm .  Come join us or donate to help DDB with its mission.  Thanks to all my friends who have helped in he past and especially those who share my passion for this group and this issue.

Lets do it for Luke!!
