Thanks for visiting my webpage.
I want you to know about an upcoming event that is very important to me; The Walk for Lupus 2008. This event is sponspored by the Lupus Alliance of Michigan. You can go to milupus.org for more information on the walk time and location.
Lupus is a life-threatening autoimmune disease in which there is no cure. In lupus patients, their immune system is so sensitive that it attacks their own healthy body tissue causing damage and inflammation. Lupus can affect any body organs; skin, heart, lungs, nervous system, and kidney.
I was diagnosed with lupus in November 1997. I survived a major flare-up in 1998 where lupus infected my brain. I was hospitalized for 6 weeks and off work for about 4 months. I had to learn to walk all over again. I have had my ups and downs since then, but I am hanging in there.
I am asking for your support through donations and/or walking with me.
I need all pledges in by Friday, September 26, 2008 so I can turn the donations in on Saturday, September 27th.
Please forward this e-mail to anyone you think may want to support me in this walk. I thank you in advance for your consideration.
