Special thanks to our sponsors:
Walk for Lupus Now® is the signature event of the Lupus Foundation of America, Inc. In more than 50 cities across America, thousands of people walk to make a difference in the lives of those affected by lupus and raise essential funds for research, education, and support services.
It is estimated that 1.5 million Americans and 17,000 in the State of Connecticut have a form of lupus. Lupus is an acute and chronic (lifelong) autoimmune disease in which the immune system is unbalanced, causing inflammation and tissue damage to virtually every organ system in the body. November 2008 marked 50 years since a drug has been approved for the treatment of lupus. There is hope on the horizon, and with your help we can find better treatments and a cure for lupus.
Walk for Lupus Now is a family-friendly event that raises funds to support the programs and services of the Lupus Foundation of America, Connecticut Chapter. The 2009 Walk for Lupus Now will take place on September 13, 2009 in Hamden, CT. Walkers are asked to check in between 9:30 and 10AM; the Walk will begin at 11:00AM. There are no fees to participate in the Walk, but a commemorative Walk for Lupus Now T-shirt will be provided to each participant who has raised $100. Additional prizes will be mailed six weeks post Walk. Here are some simple steps to get you started: Getting Started Making a difference starts with one step. Please register today.
