Pups and Pucks, The Grand Rapids Griffins 5th Annual Fall Walk-a-thon benefiting Mackenzie's Animal Sanctuary

Pups and Pucks, The Grand Rapids Griffins 5th Annual Fall Walk-a-thon benefiting Mackenzie's Animal Sanctuary

What is the Pups and Pucks Fall Walk-a-thon?

Five years ago, the Grand Rapids Griffins made a commitment to the betterment of our local animal community by partnering with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary, the largest no-kill Sanctuary in the Midwest, dedicated to finding homes for abused, abandoned and neglected dogs.

Since then, they have participated in multiple campaigns to help adoptable dogs find their forever homes, including commercials, print materials, and walking rescued dogs in our Annual Fall Walk-a-thon. Each year, the players and coaches walk Sanctuary dogs in an effort to help find that dog and many others, their forever homes. They have also helped raise thousands of dollars for Mackenzie’s by collecting pledges.

At the walk-a-thon, you and your family (and your four-legged friends) can join the team by walking in an effort to raise awareness for abused, abandoned and neglected dogs. After the walk, join the fun and enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities including: Hay Rides, Petting Zoo, Arts and Crafts, a Pet-friendly Marketplace and so much more!

Our Goal:

A big thanks to everyone that has participated in and supported our past 4 walk-a-thons. Because of you, we have raised enough money to break ground on the new on-site veterinary clinic!!!!

Thanks to the BISSELL Pet Foundation, we have $10,000 towards our goal of $91,500.00.

Now we need your support to equipt the building with the necessary medical equipment enabling us to do spay and neuter, dentals, x-rays, laboratory work(blood work, urinalysis, etc), preventative medical care, and save us over $5,000 in just gas to drive to the vets office. Our clinic will function to better serve our dog population in a timely and more cost effective manner. Thus furthering our mission of providing the highest standards of care for our animals, including veterinary care!!!
