My personal message:

My friend Colleen was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes last year.  She couldn't eat any Christmas cookies last Christmas and this year she can't have birthday cake for her 10th birthday.  Colleen has to stop playing and check her blood sugar all the time and she has to have five shots a day to stay healthy.  OOOWW!!  Would you want five shots a day?  I want to raise money so Colleen will have her same happy face when she gets a bag of Halloween candy.  If you donate money to the Kosair Children's Hospital Foundation it will help Colleen and other kids with juvenile diabetes to get better.
