My personal message:
On February 15, 2006, our Makenzie was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in her brain stem. Since then, she has been hospitalized several times and spent well over two weeks in the hospital. She has had three surgeries and many MRI's. She has been receiving weekly chemotherapy treatments since April of 2006 to fight her tumor. She has done all of this with tremendous faith and a positive attitude. She has been example to all of those around her. While battling her own tumor, Makenzie, her family, friends and classmates have collected thousands of dollars worth of new toys and made hundreds of Easter Bags for patients at Phoenix Children's Hospital. Makenzie has also participated in fundraising efforts for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Now Makenzie is team captain of Team Makenzie. It is her goal to raise $2000 for the National Brain Tumor Foundation. With all the people out there who know and love Makenzie... there's no doubt she will easily surpass that goal.
