I've always been a fan of our parks and forests, and I know that you are, too. In September, Joe and I will be hiking the West Rim Trail of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon to raise money for the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation's conservation work. We're doing this as part of the Foundation's Great Pennsylvania Outdoor Challenge, which takes place between September 12-30. 2008.
The Foundation is the only organization in Pennsylvania dedicated solely to working with our state parks and forests, and they do this by starting and supportung friends groups, managing funds, and connecting people through recreation, education and volunteerism. In under ten years, the Foundation has launched twenty friends groups, supporting 24 parks and two forest districts. They manage over 90 accounts, which enables users to give donations to state parks and forests.
Join me in my support of the foundation by making a donation to my personal challenge, or consider setting up your own challenge on behalf of the Foundation. All donations are tax deductible and stay right here in Pennsylvania!
