I'm happy to be participating
in the fourth annual
NY Writers Coalition (NYWC) Write-a-Thon
This daylong writing marathon and festival will benefit NYWC's free creative writing programs. I'll join other writers at Manhattan's NY Center for Independent Publishing to write, attend workshops, and meet other writers.
This is my second year with this marathon-festival. I am thankful to the many many friends who supported NYWC (and me!) last year. This year, I am sending around to a wider crowd so that I don't put anyone through "donor fatigue," because this organization, and this event are so IMPORTANT that I will likely be doing this every May for awhile... Or as long as the organization can keep operating in NYC -- with your help! Even the littlest bit counts!
So thanks to everyone for your generosity as I write my a** off for a great cause on May 16th.
Your pledges will help NYWC continue to offer more than 1,000 free, unique and powerful creative writing workshops each year for the homeless and formerly homeless, at-risk, and economically disadvantaged young people, seniors, war veterans, the incarcerated and formerly incarcerated, cancer survivors and many others. My own workshops are currently (in Spanish) with Latino immigrants and (bilingual) with individuals with early-stage Alzheimer's. I think it’s vital that NYWC’s work continues, and I hope that you will join me in supporting this wonderful organization.
P.S. Don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! Thanks again.
