HIV/AIDS is something that affects our world, and unfortunately there are children here in the U.S. and all over the world who are in desparate need of medical intervention.  Scientists have made great strides in developing medications that can prolong life in adults and also help to prevent the spread of HIV from expecting mothers to their children.  We still have much work to do in order to develop medications that can be successfully administered to children. 

Sadly, there are children around the world whose life expectancy is about 6 months without intervention.  Many do not have access to the care that they need either because their families do not have the finances for the medications and treatment or the countries in which they live simply do not have the means to provide them with the care that they need.

If you have ever known a child who has been afflicted with a disease such as cancer or hiv/aids as I have, then you know that for that child...all they want to do is be a child.  They want to laugh, play, love and be loved.

You can make a difference in their lives.  I would never ask someone else to do something that I have not done myself, and I can tell you that I have been part of several humanitarian causes for many years.  I have seen first hand how my $5.00, $20.00, and at times when I could afford...$65.00 donation(s) has made a difference.  Sometimes we can look at a problem and see that it is so large, and wonder how we could possibly make a difference.  I can say from experience, even the smallest donation makes a big differnce.  You may even decide to get involved yourself and start your own fundraising or volunteer.  I can tell you each person can make a difference.
