As many of you know, Kevin Baker (my old and dear friend, and my brother-in-law, and an all around prince of a guy) was recently diagnosed with the blood markers that will lead to Huntington's Disease (which his mother already suffers from).  Kevin -- being Kevin -- recently published a remarkable essay about his experience in New York Magazine which I urge you to read.  It can be found here: http://nymag.com/health/bestdoctors/2008/47566/  (MIND BOMB:  If you had a fifty-fifty chance of carrying a mutant gene that causes a fatal brain disease, would you want to know?)

The good news is that Kevin still has many, many years ahead of him before the disease is expected to assert itself.  The bad news -- at least for now -- is that there's no cure.  That's where you come in.  I am participating in a fundraising walk as part of "Team Kev" to help raise money for a cure.  I will be most grateful for anything you can do to help.  Thanks for helping out.
