My personal message:
We've all heard that oft-cited cliche, for only a cup of coffee a day, you can... I've decided to see if cutting a few things out of my daily life can make a tangible difference in the developing world. It is my goal to personally raise $5000 over the coming year for WaterAid.  But the plan is to raise $10,000 in total. That's where you come in.

The second part of this experiment is to see if enough people can sacrifice a personal luxury just once over the next year- and instead donate the monetary equivalent of said luxury to WaterAid- in an effort to raise the other $5000. So for example, at some point over the coming year, instead of buying a cup of coffee, donate $2 to WaterAid. Or instead of going out for dinner, stay in and donate $30.  Add a literal drop in the bucket!
