Hi Everyone!

Well, the big race is only two weeks away!  For those who don't know, I am competing in the Timberman Half-Ironman Triathlon on August 23, 2009. A Half-Ironman consists of a 1.2 mile swim, a 56-mile bike, and a half-marathon run for a total distance of 70.3 miles.  I am really excited and have been training very hard - probably harder than I even trained for my marathon.  Well, differently anyway.  I find that time is my enemy when it comes to triathlon training. How do you get good at three sports all at once??? :)  I think the trick is that you don't - but you buy a wetsuit to look cool and the rest just falls into place!

Luna (my dog for those who don't know her) has been an awesome training partner.  She loves to run and we've been lucky not to have too many hot sticky days this summer. 

I think this is a great fundraiser, especially since I love animals.  I am dedicating this race to Gwen's dog, Maddie, who passed away at a young age this past weekend.  I hope you'll give what you can to honor all our "best friends".  $10 is my suggested donation.
