About the Walk:
Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is designed to:
- Highlight men’s primary role in preventing sexual violence
- Raise community awareness of sexual assault
- Provide support for the Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention, the Monadnock Region’s only organization solely focused on serving victims of domestic and sexual violence and providing prevention education programs to thousands of students and community members annually.
After brief inspiring remarks by community members, drummers and musicians lead the march, followed by men wearing women’s shoes (bring your own or some will be available), followed by women and children. There will be anti-violence signs available for walkers to carry if they choose. Railroad square will have a final brief rally with music, speakers, raffle prizes.
