Hello Everyone!
My name is Meg Goodwin and I'm a fourth year medical student at the University of South Carolina's School of Medicine. With the extra bit of free time I have these days, I've decided to do something I've always thought about and run not just for my health, but for a cause in which I believe strongly. Help me to support the efforts of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, a health agency that is working to support the research of a large number of neuromuscular diseases, including most notably Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), and Myotonic Dystrophy. Find more information about Myotonic Dystrophy, the most common form of muscular dystrophy, here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myotonic_dystrophy
Every dollar you give goes directly to the efforts of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. It's a remarkably prolific organization that's been around since 1950 helping to educate, fund research, and help individuals with neuromuscular diseases and their families. They just do so much good! Check out their website: www.mda.org
And if you have a little extra time (and a tissue handy!) check out this old Jerry Lewis clip on youtube from one of his earlier telethons; it's terribly touching:www.youtube.com/watch.
I'm admittedly not hardcore (no marathons in my immediate future), but I will be running in a number of smaller events in the upcoming months in hope of preparing for a HALF marathon in January, with my next scheduled event being the James Island Connector Run down in Charleston, SC on November 7th.
Thank you so much for your support!
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
