Maine Handicapped Skiing (MHS) is about excitement, challenges and fun. Hundreds of children and adults with physical disabilities participate in adaptive sports year-round at MHS; learning new skills, making friends and developing self-confidence.
In the winter MHS provides free lessons in alpine and nordic skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing at four ski resorts: Sunday River, Sugarloaf, Sunday River Cross Country Ski Center and Pineland Farms. In the summer MHS provides lessons in golf, cycling and paddling at locations throughout Maine. In addition, our Veterans/No Boundaries program offers year-round opportunities for veterans with physical disabilities to enjoy camaraderie and outdoor recreation throughout Maine.
Over 450 volunteers donate their time and expertise to help make dreams come true for people with physical disabilities.
MHS's mission is to promote year-round education and training for individuals with physical disabilities in order to develop skills and provide enjoyment through active recreation. MHS is a 501 ( c ) 3 non-profit organization.
